There are so many eateries can be found here in Malaysia, restaurants or even stalls, whether they are Italian, French, Western, Oriental, Malay etc...some are really good and we do have our list of favourites...using fresh&good quality ingredients, always trying their best to satisfy their customers palate...BRAVO for all these good restaurants for putting their customers No.1!!!
However, unfortunately there are too many eateries that didnt care about using fresh&good quality ingredients..all they care is buying ingredients from their suppliers thats cheap and can give them high margin at the end of the day...you cant even imagine where some of the meat they used come from, its labelled 'Australian Imported Beef' but is it true???Some are only labelled as 'Imported Beef', maybe from India,China or whichever part in the world..And miraclely, some are even cheaper than our local beef..though they should have at least cost of transportation esp when its airflown??
Some restaurants even use expired ingredients...expired sauces, expired meat, expired cheeses, expired mees...all the expired stuff that you can think of...have you ever experience buying something from a stall or restaurant thats stale...it drives me crazy when i got these in my plate or my takeaways...we pay for good food, not old stale food...how can it be, them buying supplies from suppliers without any expiry dates??some suppliers even put new expiry dates on the supplies...buy in bulk and get it cheap...no matter how cheap it is, how good it taste, they are expired products, cant give it for customers who dig their pockets to pay for good food...
hmmm....imagine if every eateries use only fresh&good quality ingredients to serve each&every customers...good food, good customers, true satisfaction...and Malaysia will continue to be a food paradise...not only for the locals, but to all who enjoys our food culture...

I would agree with you about fresh ingredients and local ingredients. I think it is mostly the fault of the goverment not promoting enough of Malaysian grown food rather than importing from other countries mainly China and Thailand.
